Gary Rundle
For over 35 years I've worked in the creative fields, in one form of media or another. In either graphic design, illustration, photography or recently videography. It never seems to matter what the media is, it's the creative aspect that draws me in to it. Even before I started working in the field I was always doing something involving some form of creativity. I've always seemed to have a pen or pencil and a pad of paper or a camera within arms reach. It still hasn't changed much today except now you can add a laptop to the list. My first devotion, as a child, was to the crayon or pencil or pen as illustration was more to my liking but as I grew, new techniques and capabilities came around. Graphic arts and design as well as photography soon caught my attention and came to the forefront, sped along when the computer replaced the drawing/drafting table and the darkroom. In recent years photography has become more predominant, with videography creeping into the mix, again with technology spurring the horse.
The immediacy of capturing an image or images with camera or video device appeals to me greatly, freezing
a moment in time. Although I still enjoy picking up a pencil, some paper and feeling the sensation in my fingertips as pencil moves across a fine drawing paper. The artistry and inspiration of being creative are the oxygen and blood that fuel my lungs and heart to keep me motivated and moving forward.
I look forward to creating and sharing what I do everyday!
